Lazy fucking day. Got a surprise visit from my dad and brother when they dropped off a china cabinet. It needs some work but it's not bad for being free. My dad was working a job when the owner asked if he'd to take it.
We left the house too late to enjoy an evening at the Orange Table, our favorite restaurant. The place was packed inside mostly with groups of people occupying several joined tables. i was soaked with sweat and i had gotten oil on the left leg of my pants. Ugh. The Smooch called the Bean Dude, aka Brick, aka Jeff, to tell him we were arranging different plans but it turns out he wasn't going to join us. He was hanging out with Daniela while his wife was enjoying a girl-only party. We considered where to go next and decided on eating at a restaurant at the mall and then hitting a movie, hopefully Willy Wonka. But i needed to change my pants and also return the laptop which we were hoping to use at OT.
The Smooch stayed while i took off back into the heat. It looked stormy to the North and East but only a hot, dry wind was blowing from the West. Riding by the lakes and the park you could feel the pockets of super humid air. Once home i tried to purchase tickets online but the online system wasn't working. i changed pants and exchanged their contents. Three-quarters of the way back to OT i realized i forgot the Smooch's keys which i needed for her bike. So back i went. i felt pretty miserable. Got the damn keys and head back, again. i had the strangest feeling the whole while. If you're familiar with Twin Peaks then you'll know there's a certain song that plays in the background when 'bad things' are happening. That's how i felt. Something is going on and i have no control over whatever it is.
By the time i finally made it back to OT it was after 9. The place was still super busy but the Smooch had found a group to hang out with. Unfortuantely it was no cooler inside the restaurant then it was outside. i wasn't keen on joining the group but i did it just to get out of the way. They were very nice. Odd how a bunch of usual customers can ended up being so friendly to each other. Every woman there was practically coming out of their tops, typical for Scottsdale. The Smooch had already had quite a few drinks. i don't like it when she's intoxicated or anyone else in the same condition for that matter especially in public. OT's Hawaiian themed menu for the night was a flop. My dinner consisted of a few tempura veggies half of which i couldn't eat because of the peppers. Half the menu was already sold out.
Right now, at 1:40am at night, the temperature is 102 fucking degrees!
Could get up to 118F tomorrow!
